Women Onside and KS Environmental partner to provide scholarship program for Emerging Women Leaders

Women Onside, an Australian football organisation that promotes gender equity and inclusion, has partnered with KS Environmental, a renowned commercial waste management services organisation based in Melbourne, to provide a scholarship program for emerging women leaders in the football community.

The scholarship program will fund the attendance of up to ten women to attend the ‘Level Up! Women in Football Leadership Conference’ on 25th May 2023.

The Women in Football Leadership Conference is a platform for women in football to network, learn, and share ideas on various topics such as leadership, governance, and management.

Addressed by prominent speakers from Australia and around the world, the conference provides a space for women to discuss the unique challenges they face and develop strategies to overcome them.

The scholarship program aims to promote diversity and inclusion in football by providing financial assistance to those who may need access to such opportunities.

While registration prices for the conference may be affordable for some, Women Onside and KS Environmental recognise that others may need more financial support to attend. As such, the scholarship program aims to make the conference financially accessible to a broad range of people.

“We are thrilled to partner with KS Environmental to provide this scholarship program for emerging women leaders in football,” said Women Onside Chair Kerry Harris.
“The Women in Football Leadership Conference is an important platform for women to connect and learn from one another. We believe that financial barriers should not prevent women from accessing such opportunities, and we are enormously grateful to KS Environmental for their support.”

KS Environmental Managing Director Paul Smith shared the same sentiment. “We are proud to partner with Women Onside in promoting diversity and inclusion in football,” said Smith.

With the support of KS Environmental, Women Onside aims to provide ten scholarships, with one for every State and Territory and no more than two scholarships from any State or Territory.

The program aims to provide scholarships to a diverse range of people from regional areas, culturally and linguistically diverse sectors, First Nations communities and people with disabilities.

The scholarship program is open to all emerging women leaders in the Australian football community. Interested applicants can visit Women Onside’s website at https://www.womenonside.com.au/wiflconference to apply.

Applications need to be submitted by 7th May 2023
